How often during the racing and off season do you administer Probiotics?

I haven't used it yet but I think I'm going to give it a try. Right now I just use vinigar and garlic in the water, and once a week I put a spoon of honey in the water. If I can remember where I read the bit about honey I will post it for you.

Hi Ron,
I would class Honey as a Pro-Biotic.
I use Pro-Biotics in one form or another on 3-4 days per week, racing or off season.

I use all natural Pro-Bios daily, in the form of Chislom Trail Loft Products. Just one of the many benefits for me, is that there is no longer any pigeon smell in the lofts. What it does for the birds, I don't think I have time to describe, but it's great.

Do you use CTL Products from a preset programm? or do you use it as you see fit?
Also, is there any change in usage between the racing and the off season when it comes to Pro-Biotics?

Yes it's 1 tsp. per gallon of feed. You can use it however you want to though.
Not in my lofts. I use Pro-Bios all year round. I also feed the same good food as in race season. Only a little less because they are not out flying around. The avieries are big enough they can fly in them but because they can't pick up any great speed, I feed less. Plus they get more corn if they want it, to protect them from our -43* weather.

Do your birds eat the same amount of food with or without Pro-Bios added?

Hi Thumper,
Sorry this is so late.
The birds seem to eat less, if my costs are anything to go by.

That's weird, it went on my last post. This is a test to see if this will too.

I've tried probotics specifically Pro~Vital and did ok with 3-4 birds out of 25 in the top 10% on the short races, but after a couple of weeks I was on the last sheet of the race results, with the majority of the birds coming in either real late straggling during the week. I've had better results with Ganus 3-2-1. It put me on the 1st page and in the top 10% week after week.

I agree with that Ron about honey as probiotics. I remember, my mother often gave me a honey as a food supplement when I was still a kid. And it really worked, until now I use it but not daily anymore.
