I haven't used it yet but I think I'm going to give it a try. Right now I just use vinigar and garlic in the water, and once a week I put a spoon of honey in the water. If I can remember where I read the bit about honey I will post it for you.
Ron
I agree with that Ron about honey as probiotics. I remember, my mother often gave me a honey as a food supplement when I was still a kid. And it really worked, until now I use it but not daily anymore.

yes yes for university actually.. i have some more questions actually that maybe you can help me with, Do you give your birds a mixture of vitamins that only you know? If so do you have a specific or special way in which you prepare it? How do you prepare your birds for a race, special food/vitamin mixture, lucky charms etc? Do you go through any specific routine in readying the birds for flight? On the Saturday while waiting for the bird, do you go through any routine in anticipation? Is there a lot of anxiety, and what do you do to calm yourself if there is? Do you socialise with the bird, read the papers with them, talk to them, play music to them etc? How does betting work in the pigeon club? And when this extends to federation and bigger races does club loyalty count? Meaning would you ever bet on another clubs bird and if so would you club take kind of offence? I may have some more questions to come, thank you once again. Thank you for your time Many regards Max

Hi, How we clock our pigeons depends on what system each individual club uses. Some use manual clocks, some have electronic clocks and some clubs use both. Each bird is recorded separately. With the E Clocks... each bird has an electronic 'race' band that has been coded for each bird. When the bird arrives home, it goes over an electronic scanner (much like the food store uses) in the way into the loft. The electronic clocks are then taken to the clubhouse and the readings printed off for each loft in the club. The fastest bird wins the race. With a manual clock each bird is given a rubber leg band the day they get shipped to a race. On arrival home this rubber band is taken off the leg and put into a clock with holes for this perpose. A crank is turned, stamping the paper copy of the time and date. The clock is taken to the club and opened and the paper stamps are read. We do the sport brcause it's fun, we love the birds and you meet lots of nice people. It's also fun when you win a race. Are you doing a school project? Thanks, Connie from Steacy Family Lofts __________ Hi, I was wondering if you could help me? I'm doing some research into pigeon racing and was wondering if you could describe the clocking out system? The pigeon arrives back into the loft and do you remove the ring and put it into the clock? if this is so, how do you account for the whole flock? Also what do you consider to be the reason you do this sport? for the breeding aspect, social aspect, the extension of a pet or any other reason? It would be extremely helpful.
Many Regards
